Tracy Carroll

A South Orange resident for over 25 years, Tracy (and her husband, Kenny,) raised two Columbia High School graduates who have subsequently graduated from college. After leaving the corporate world, Tracy became very involved in her children's education through various volunteer PTA and HSA positions at South Mountain, South Orange Middle School, and Columbia High School. Tracy's work on the SOM Community Coalition on Race introduced her to the wonderful neighborhoods that make up our diverse village and highlighted why we all love living here.

Currently, Tracy splits her volunteer time between Morrow Memorial UMC and the South Orange Public Library. At Morrow she leads a Caregivers Support Group and works other ministers from time to time. Tracy serves as Secretary on the South Orange Public Library Board of Trustees and is the Board's representative on the Foundation for the South Orange Public Library,

Her love for books and libraries was bolstered at a very young age by her aunt who worked as a senior librarian in Washington, DC. In addition, she was greatly influenced by her mother's love of reading and later by her work in our local school libraries. She is committed to creatively working with Library staff, our village community, and her Board member colleagues to provide cutting edge library services that meet South Orange's needs now and in the future.
